The Palm OS database files located on this page can be downloaded for FREE.
To our knowledge, we are the first, and ONLY state in the nation to offer a downloadable production guide database. Our intent is to make the information as accessible to the public as possible.
The downloadable database files are built around a “customized” version of the Palm OS 4.0 Desktop Application. The database can be run on both desktop and laptop computers, by utilizing the Palm 4.0 Desktop application (available for free download from the www.Palm.com web site).
The database files can be hot-synced with a wide variety of Palm, Handspring, Visor, and Sony products, which operate on the Palm OS system.
After hot-syncing the Palm Desktop Application to one of these devices, you can then infrared beam the contact data between two PDA devices, or a PDA, or communicator device, and an infrared equipped cellular phone.
You can also hot-sync the database with the contact file on an iPod (see extras) by using the software application iSync.
The Palm Desktop Application has the ability to export files in three formats; vCards, Tab & Return, or as a Palm Desktop export. Different versions of the export files can be imported into email applications such as: Address Book, Entourage, and Microsoft Outlook.
The vCard export files can be imported directly into the Address Book application in the Mac OS. Once imported, you can even PRINT envelopes from Address Book using the shareware application called SnailMail.
The Tab & Return export files can be imported into Entourage.
The Palm Desktop Application can PRINT hard copies of the production guide, in a variety of customizable formats, along with postcards and envelopes, as well as printing copies of any searches of the database.
To our knowledge, this is the first-of-it’s-kind film and video production guide - based on the Palm OS Desktop Application. As we work to improve the user interface, and expand the downloadable files and accompanying instructions for this new technology, please bear with us.
